SHIATSU
with MARK POGSON

£35 per session

The word "shiatsu" means finger pressure in Japanese.  It is an oriental healing art based on stimulating the flow of Chi (life energy) through the body. Shiatsu shares its roots with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and uses a range of meridians (energy channels) and points (Tsubos), including those  used in acupuncture.  It is a gentle non-invasive therapy  and can assist in the prevention and treatment of many conditions including back and mobility problems, migraine, asthma, digestive disorders, fatigue, insomnia, challenging life transitions and emotional challenges.Treatments last approximately 1 hour during which the client wears loose fitting garments and lays on a futon on the floor.

Whilst living in Dartmoor and studying for a degree in Environmental Science Mark developed an interest in Oriental philosophy which led to him learning Tai Chi.  Mark felt he wanted to pass the benefits of this on to others and so went on to take a 3 year diploma at the Shiatsu School in Manchester and qualified as a Shiatsu practitioner  in 1997.
