There is a growing feeling of disconnectedness with the earth and our roots and more and more people are turning to traditional craft technqiues to fulfil this need. It is very beneficial to be in a group making things together and particularly a group project. There is something very satisfying about dyeing wool from a sheep you have seen, carding wool, spinning, weaving, sewing and knitting. Clare provides this space and gives all her knowledge to the questions of those who want to know. She is thoroughly committed to the therapeutic value of group work using crafts. Meeting peole at all levels where they feel most comfortable and being able to blend this into a group situation is truly a very special gift.
The current project we are undertaking is "Patterns of the World" where we are individually making our shapes and then sewing them all together to make one cohesive whole. This will be featured in the forthcoming programme on the Lets scheme to be shown in January.
