The Healing Hands network pioneered its work in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Although Sarajevo is no longer in the media spotlight Healing Hands is determined to stay involved. The ravages of rape, torture, disappearance of loved ones and extensive land mining have taken a huge toll. Rebuilding is under way but the physiological and psychological scars take longer to heal. The neglected victims of the hidden horrors of disaster: the young, the old, the infirm who have no-one to help them need help longer after the front line workers have gone.
This talk is about the last previous three visits Elizabeth has made since 1996 when the war ended. The talk will involve a DVD presentation and various documents that were presented to the world at the end of the war. It will give a sharp perspective on what happens at the ending of a war as well as the hope and good will that can be generated out of such atrocity.
